BODY POLISH

Wintery dry skin woes.....Most people have them.
This recipe is very similar to the lip scrub with a few twists.

Virgin Coconut oil
Brown sugar
Tablespoon of honey
Coffee grounds or Instant Coffee

This homemade scrub leaves the skin smooth, tight and mosturized.
This is part of my coconut oil challenge.
I am finding this oil is a miracle.

Rest of my day.....

My wonderful friend Barbara dropped by today .
She is visiting her family over the holidays and then heading back to Colorado on Sat.

Some tea, walk to the castle, talking and window shopping

WHATS IN YOUR MORNING CUP?

I am a fan of tea. Green, black, fruit, white...I like it.
One of my favorites though is
YERBA MATE

Benefits of drinking yerba mate

Rich in antioxidents                                                             (90%more than green tea)

                                      Enhances Your Ability to Focus

No jitters, No headaches, No nonsense

Enhances physical endurance

Regular yerba mate consumption also helps keep lactic acid from building up in your muscles so you can decrease post workout soreness and cut your recovery time.

Aids digestion and helps control weight

                                                        Supports Cardiovascular Health

The antioxidants and amino acids present in yerba mate help fat and cholesterol move through your bloodstream so that they don't accumulate on artery walls.

Its just awesome!

Challenge Day 13

WORKOUT

BACK ON POINTE MORNING ROUTINE
SQUAT AND PLANK CHALLENGE
STEPS SO FAR = 11,592
Apples = 2

A bit of a lazy day. Looking forward to the new year and the challenges I lay out for myself.
Missing my family quite a bit over these past few days but I know this part of my
journey will all be worth it in the end.

Whipped Coconut Oil Body Butter

Less than $2 a jar this lotion works wonders.
Super simple to make and literally only requires one
ingredient. Vitamin E oil and essential oils completely optional.
Wrap it in a up in a pretty jar and share it with a friend.

What you need:
  • 1 cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vit E oil (optional)
  • a few drops of your favorite essential oils for fragrance (optional)

1. Put all ingredients into a mixing bowl. Note: Do not melt the coconut oil first. It will only whip up if it’s solid.
2. Mix on high speed with a wire whisk for 6-7 minutes or until whipped into a light, airy consistency.
3. Spoon the whipped coconut oil body butter into a glass jar and cover tightly. Store at room temperature, or in the refrigerator if your house is so warm it melts the oil.
Tip: An electric hand mixer will work just fine or a high tech kitchen mixer will also do an awesome job.  Do not use a  blender or food processor with this coconut oil recipe, because they tend to warm the oil too much and prevent it from whipping up.
SideNote: Whipped oil should stay quite soft and not eventually harden up like it would in the glass jar just in its regular state. Some beading as it sweats is normal.

Challenge Day 12

WORKOUT

BACK ON POINTE MORNING ROUTINE

STEPS SO FAR = 16,546

The holidays continue with family and friends. Challenge going strong.
Getting workout in super early so I can just kick back and enjoy the day

Oil Pulling

How to Oil Pull

  1. Put 1-2 teaspoons of oil into the mouth. I prefer to use 2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil. I scoop it out as a solid and let it melt in my mouth before swishing.
  2. Swish for 20 minutes. Apparently the timing is key, according to Dr. Bruce Fife, author of Oil Pulling Therapy, as this is long enough to break through plaque and bacteria but not long enough that the body starts re-absorbing the toxins and bacteria. The oil will get thicker and milky as it mixed with saliva during this time and it should be creamy-white when spit out.
  3. Spit oil into the trash can.  Do not swallow the oil as it is hopefully full of bacteria, toxins and pus that are now not in the mouth!
  4. Rinse well with warm water. Warm water seems to clean the mouth better  I swish a few times with warm water to get any remaining oil out of my mouth.
  5. Brush well
           Directions from Wellness Mama

It will be hard to keep it going the first few times for the full 20 minutes but stick with it and try it for 10 minutes and work your way up.

Why should we oil pull ?

Relief from migraine headaches
Reduced inflammation from arthritis
 Supports normal kidney function
 Helps reduce insomnia
 Some cases of improved vision
 Increased energy
Eliminate skin conditions such as eczema or acne
 Can reduce symptoms of allergies
Can assist in the detoxification of heavy metals and harmful organisms to the body
 A brighter whiter smile
 Healthy looking gums and teeth

I find this extremely interesting and am looking forward what these next few weeks will bring with results and so forth.

Anyone want to join ?

Happy festive days to all

Running around like a chicken with her head cut off through the masses
that crowd the streets of Nürnberg this time of year.
Christmas market is on its last leg and for many christmas begins
tomorrow.  I literally was pushing myself through at the checkouts ready to deck
anyone that  came too close. The holiday hustle and bustle is not fun anymore.

Feeling quite good heading into this week. I am also starting to take this coconut challenge more seriously. I AM AMAZED at the myriad of benefits this oil has. I will continue using it for more anything I can.

I have replaced all lotions and am only using oil ( that includes my face cream)

Coconut oil is the only product I will use for my hair

I started Oil Pullling ( more on that tomorrow)

I will take in 2 teaspoons of coconut oil a day.

I put a spoonful of the oil in my tea every morning

I am cooking with only..... you guessed it .. this oil.

I will write about a variety of other uses in the blogs to come through January.
