Oil Pulling

How to Oil Pull

  1. Put 1-2 teaspoons of oil into the mouth. I prefer to use 2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil. I scoop it out as a solid and let it melt in my mouth before swishing.
  2. Swish for 20 minutes. Apparently the timing is key, according to Dr. Bruce Fife, author of Oil Pulling Therapy, as this is long enough to break through plaque and bacteria but not long enough that the body starts re-absorbing the toxins and bacteria. The oil will get thicker and milky as it mixed with saliva during this time and it should be creamy-white when spit out.
  3. Spit oil into the trash can.  Do not swallow the oil as it is hopefully full of bacteria, toxins and pus that are now not in the mouth!
  4. Rinse well with warm water. Warm water seems to clean the mouth better  I swish a few times with warm water to get any remaining oil out of my mouth.
  5. Brush well
           Directions from Wellness Mama

It will be hard to keep it going the first few times for the full 20 minutes but stick with it and try it for 10 minutes and work your way up.

Why should we oil pull ?

Relief from migraine headaches
Reduced inflammation from arthritis
 Supports normal kidney function
 Helps reduce insomnia
 Some cases of improved vision
 Increased energy
Eliminate skin conditions such as eczema or acne
 Can reduce symptoms of allergies
Can assist in the detoxification of heavy metals and harmful organisms to the body
 A brighter whiter smile
 Healthy looking gums and teeth

I find this extremely interesting and am looking forward what these next few weeks will bring with results and so forth.

Anyone want to join ?

Happy festive days to all

Ciao, M
